1. Who are we?
The Cryoact Ltd (“Life I Act”, “we”, “us” or “our”) owns and operates a re-education and rehabilitation centre entirely dedicated to the health and well-being of patients, with multidisciplinary and professional care.
Life | Act is a company of Life Together Ltd and is also part of IBL Group. Our registered office is situated at IBL House, Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis, Mauritius and our principal places of business is situated at Healthscape, Forbach.
Life | Act is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of the personal data you provide us when you use our website, when you contact our health centre, when you come for care, treatment and services at our re-education and rehabilitation centre, or when you otherwise interact with us.
2. Which personal data we collect?
Personal data is defined in the DPA and it refers to data about an individual who can be identified from either that particular data, or from that data and other information which we have or are likely have access to.
Personal health information means identifying information about an individual relating to their physical or mental health.
Personal data is collected where reasonably necessary for our functions and activities. Personal data that we may hold include the following:
- Your name, address, and contact details;
- Your date of birth;
- Your national identity card number, your passport details;
- Your next of kin contact details;
- Personal Health Information:
- Current medication or treatments used by the patient;
- Previous/current medical history, including, where relevant, a family medical history;
- The name of any health service provider or medical specialist to whom the patient is referred;
- Medical test results, symptoms and diagnoses.
- Date, time of your appointments and the name of your practitioner;
- Details of an individual’s dealings with us, including telephone records, email and online interactions;
- Payment-related personal information;
- Photos and video recordings;
- CV, pictures and qualifications details when you either spontaneously apply for a job at Life I Act or respond to a vacancy notice;
- Other personal data as may be provided by an individual from time to time;
- Any other personal data necessary to fulfil your special requests;
- Any other personal data that you choose to provide to us.
Life I Act records may include relevant information that you have told us, or information provided on your behalf by relatives or those who care for you and know you well, or from health professionals and other staff directly involved in your care and treatment.
Your records may be held by Life I Act either in paper-form or electronically in a computer system.
3. Why we collect information?
Wherever possible, we will collect personal data directly from you. We will only collect, use and disclose personal data with your consent, your deemed consent or as may be otherwise permitted under the DPA or other applicable laws.
We may also collect personal data provided on your behalf from your relatives, persons who care for you and know you well, from health professionals involved in your treatment or others who will pay for your treatment. We will only do so to be able to provide our services.
In addition to the personal data you provide to us, certain information related to you that is not considered personal data under the DPA may also be collected. We collect this information to improve our website. Such non-personal data may include information such as your IP address, the internet browser you use, details of your interaction with our website and other types of non-personal data.
3.1 General purposes
We use your personal data in the course of our business activities and interaction with you for the following purposes:
- Booking your appointment with your medical practitioner and contacting you to confirm the appointment;
- Providing services to you and meeting your healthcare needs within Life | Act;
- Managing properly our health center and schedules of the practitioners;
- Sharing your personal data with other medical practitioners when necessary;
- Working effectively with other professionals involved in your treatment;
- Responding to threats to life, health or public safety;
- Resolving complaints and handling enquiries;
- Assessing the quality of care and services provided;
- Administrative or operational purposes including billing, accounting, and audits;
- Compliance with legal obligations and regulatory requirements;
- Treating your job applications or conducting recruitment analytics;
- Promoting business relationships or marketing events;
- Ensuring the security of premises and keeping evacuation lists.
3.2 Marketing Purposes
If you have subscribed to receive marketing communications, Life | Act may contact you to inform you of developments, services, and events. You can opt out at any time.
4. To whom do we disclose personal data?
Your personal data may be shared with healthcare professionals, external consultants, affiliates, regulators, law enforcement, and third-party service providers, with appropriate safeguards in place. Aggregate or anonymized data may be shared as well.

Some data may be transferred outside Mauritius (e.g., Microsoft Cloud in Ireland). Appropriate safeguards are implemented to secure such transfers.
